BACHS National Sorry Day Community Gathering 2026

Reflecting Together, Connecting Together, Healing Together

The Bourke Aboriginal Community Health Service (BACHS) warmly invites community members to come together for a meaningful National Sorry Day Community Gathering on Monday 25 May 2026.

This important day provides an opportunity for community to reflect on the history and ongoing impact of the Stolen Generations, while also recognising the strength, resilience and enduring spirit of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Held in a safe and welcoming space, the gathering is designed to encourage connection, conversation and healing through shared experiences and creative activities.

The workshop will be delivered by Barrmarrany and will include opportunities for community members to yarn, reflect and participate in hands-on activities, including:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Candle making
  • Jewellery making

The event is open to both men and women in the community, and all community members and families are encouraged to attend.
